MARCO de Comunicación has been shortlisted for an esteemed Dircom Ramón del Corral Award, nominated for creating and implementing a 360º campaign for the World Water Council’s (WWC) flagship event, the World Water Forum, in Brazil. The agency – which already enjoys the status of the most awarded and best valued in Spain – is a finalist in the External Campaigns for Governmental Entities, Associations and NGOs category.

The success of WWC’s World Water Day campaign rested on a data driven approach. Under the slogan, ‘without water, there is no life’, WWC sought to become the leading international authority on all things related to water security. The information campaign was supported during the three-day event by 20 press releases translated into five languages sent to 12,000 media outlets, whilst MARCO’s strategical decision to vouch for the power of video-storytelling was demonstrated by the success of the VNR that received 15,000 clicks on social media.

MARCO also designed and built the stand for the WWC at the World Water Forum, further helping to position its client as the global leader on water security and resources. The stand, which was conceived around the WWC’s values of sustainable development and international cooperation for water security, was made of 100% recyclable materials and included projected images and interactive spaces to attract attendees which succeeded in connecting a physical space with the outside and digital worlds. With its spaces for learning, meeting and relaxing, the stand welcomed an average of 5,000 passers-by over the six-day event, who were able to discover the key messages of the WWC.

The exclusive Ramón del Corral Awards are recognised nationally for highlighting excellence and best practices in PR and communications across Spain, meaning that being shortlisted is a sought-after and hard-earned honour. But the awards are not limited to Spain, they take on an international character as the winner and two runners-up of each category become the Spanish candidates for the Fundacom Awards.

Didier Lagae, CEO and Founder of MARCO affirmed, “I am extremely pleased with this Industry Recognition for our capacity to deliver first class global communication campaigns. We had over 10 people on the ground in Brasilia to make this happen supported by a team of over 30 consultants that worked on the World Water Forum campaign from our 10 offices on 4 continents and who were further supported by our MSL network of over 100 offices globally. We congratulate our client, the World Water Council, our first class MARCO team and the other PR agencies who did a great job and also made it to the finals in different categories: Llorente & Cuenca, Ulled, Edelman Spain, Planner Media, Grayling and Ogilvy Spain”.

MARCO’s repeated recognition for performing across the full range of 360º communication services and for projects delivered around the globe, point towards its ever-growing reputation internationally and its capacity to deliver from any of one its 10 offices across four continents worldwide.
