MARCO, the independent global communications consultancy, and Audible, an Amazon company that creates and distributes top-quality audio entertainment content worldwide, have won the award for “Best Product Communication” at the Dircom Ramón del Corral Awards. The jury of the IV edition of the awards highlighted the effectiveness of the strategy behind and the implementation of its launch campaign in Spain in a year where participation reached record levels with a total of 213 entries. The ceremony, produced by Mindset, was streamed online this morning and hosted by the journalist, Carme Chaparro.
The award for the “Best Product Communication” recognises the excellence in the communication and storytelling strategy developed by MARCO and Audible in responding to the challenges presented by the launch of a new type of entertainment streaming service in the midst of a pandemic.
The launch campaign successfully positioned Audible.ES in the market, making it one of the most downloaded apps in Spain during the second wave of the pandemic. It reached an audience of over 1 billion people, thanks to the coverage generated in both the media and on social networks.
This initial phase led up to a virtual launch event bringing together more than 500 attendees following a powerful campaign that featured more than 34 interviews with Audible executives and top Spanish talents, as well as 70 educational meetings. The virtual event was also attended by hundreds of senior Amazon executives from different branches worldwide and was viewed internally as an example of best practice in terms of managing and communicating in the new normal.
Michael Treutler, Senior Vice President of International Content & Publishing at Audible, said, “receiving the Ramón del Corral Award for our launch is wonderful news. This distinction acknowledges the excellent work of both the Audible and MARCO teams and shows just how well the service was received by society“.
Meanwhile, Juan Baixeras, Country Manager of Audible – Spain, added, “audio entertainment is becoming more and more popular in our country and at Audible, we will continue to stand by users to offer them the best, most creative and local content possible”.
“We are proud to have received this award at the 4th edition of the Ramón del Corral Awards. A gala that this year has been able to highlight the ability of MARCO and Audible to reinvent and introduce a new product category into the market in the unprecedented context of the pandemic and within a sector as important as entertainment“, said Didier Lagae, Founder and CEO of MARCO.
