MARCO, the international communications agency based in Spain, has opened a new office in São Paulo, and serves as additional sign of its firm commitment to international expansion. The opening of this new office demonstrates MARCO’s growth, now operating in nine countries, and a continuation of its plan for growth in LATAM by adding to those recently opened in Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

After last year, in which MARCO steadily expanded its presence in Latin America, the MARCO Group has expressed the aim of further establishing itself in the Latin American market through its new office in São Paulo, the largest city in Latin America and the most important economic centre in Brazil. This new opening strengthens the agency’s expansion and its position as a climate leader, as well as showing the growth of its global and multidisciplinary team, with more than 150 consultants of 20 nationalities.

As explained by Didier Lagae, founder and CEO of MARCO, “After our successful opening of new offices in key Latin American markets last year, it is the right time to take advantage of this opportunity to offer the Brazilian market to our international clients, enabling them to reach their stakeholders in Brazil and the rest of the world. The opening of the new office in São Paulo only reaffirms our commitment to one of the most promising markets in Latin America.”

MARCO expands its operations in Brazil through a local team led by Victor M. Affonso, Head of Brazil and Portugal at MARCO. Affonso has over ten years of professional experience in the field of communication, creating, editing, and managing content both offline and online. Affonso moved to Lisbon more than three years ago to pursue a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technology and joined MARCO in November 2017, working for corporate and consumer accounts.

Douglas Meira joins as MARCO’s Country Manager in Brazil, bringing more than a decade of experience in public relations, media relations and content production activities as an account manager, coordinator and senior analyst. Meira has a degree in Journalism and a post-graduate degree in Institutional Journalism, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), and is specialised in Corporate Communications, with a broad range of experience in public relations agencies and media outlets in São Paulo.
