Didier Lagae, CEO and founder of the communication agency MARCO, has been invited to be part of the judging panel for the prestigious SABRE Awards, whose awards ceremony will take place in May, the Mercury Awards, whose ceremony will take place on 20 March in New York, as well as the recently announced Lisbon PR Awards, that form part of the Lisbon Awards Group, and whose awards gala will be held in Lisbon on 15 January.

Didier Lagae has been announced as a panel member for these important international awards due to the relevance of his global work in recent years, as well as for the latest awards he has received in 2019, including his naming as European PR Professional of the Year for the PRWeek Awards and as Global PR Professional of the Year award for the Stevie Awards. Didier brings to the judging panel more than 25 years of experience in the Public Relations sector, a vision for promoting sustainability as a Climate Leader, as well as a wealth of knowledge in reputation management and brand creation, demonstrated by the recent publication of his book, “Country Brand, a Branded Country”.

The SABRE Awards have more than 25 years of history and, to this day, cover the entire world of public relations through various competitions that include North America, Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. It is one of the most prestigious events in the sector, attracting more than 5,000 visitors from more than 60 countries, and recognises some of the best campaigns globally in a wide variety of categories.

The Mercury Awards were founded in 1987 with the objective of promoting excellence in the public relations sector. It is the only independent awards organisation in the world, as it does not accept advertising, membership fees or external sponsors. The Mercury Awards recognise the greatest achievements of international communications professionals in a wide variety of categories.

The Lisbon PR Awards were recently presented by the Lisbon Awards Group, which is responsible for the development of events in Portugal, such as the Lisbon International Advertising Festival, the Lusophone Creativity Awards and the Lisbon Marketing Summit, among others. These new international awards have been created with the aim of rewarding the best projects from Public Relations agencies, consultants, brands and even advertising agencies working in this sector.

Today, Didier leads as CEO a team of more than 130 consultants, of more than eighteen different nationalities, at MARCO, the agency he founded in 2002. Soon to celebrate its 18th consecutive year of operations, the agency continues growing as one of the agencies with the highest turnover in the Iberian Peninsula. This is in addition to its expansion through LATAM, where it has recently opened offices in Mexico City, Bogota, Lima and São Paulo and thanks to which it now has more than ten offices spread over four continents.

Didier wanted to express his thanks for the invitation to be part of the juries for these awards, affirming that, “It is a pleasure and an honour to be part of the panel for awards as prestigious as the Sabre, Mercury and the Lisbon PR awards. Undoubtedly, being part of this select group is thanks to the work we have done from MARCO, and the expertise behind the day-to-day operations of the agency. On the other hand, I am also looking forward to being able to evaluate the campaigns presented this year which will surely mark their own high standards of excellence”.
